Chrome shifter bezel
Hi I am looking for a chrome, metal, automatic shifter console bezel. I see a few online but have no idea as to the quality. There is one sold on ebay as being metal but when I inquired as to if its cast, stamped. extruded, or billet the seller, who apparently is clueless, told me its high quality aluminum....that tells me nothing.
So does anyone have one or can suggest one to me?
Another thing is my stock black plastic one does not want to sit flush, its pops out at the top even though it is not warped and is in great shape, is this common?
I am amazed at how much cheap black plastic is in this car, compared to my old 81 W123.

99.9% of them are made of what they call ABS Chrome
It's plastic. What you need to be careful of is not all W124 transmission surrounds are the same size. There is about 3-4 different dimensions.
I had to glue the one i bought onto the original black plastic surround.
