Lowering a 94 E320 Wagon

Hi, I am planning on lowering my 320 wagon w124 and I was wondering if you guys know who makes suspension kits for this car. Are there coil over kits? What is the ride quality like? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Many believe that despite the expense, a complete factory Sportline suspension conversion is the way to go due to the predictable outcome. Bear in mind that being a wagon, yours will have the self levelling, hydro-pneumatic rear suspension.

Does this mean that the self leveling suspension will not work if I lower the car? Thanks for the help, it is greatly appreciated!

No. Just that you need to be aware of exactly what is needed to do the job properly. I don't know which parts, if any, in the rear suspension of the wagon are different in the Sportline. Rostov has quoted some part numbers but I don't know if they all apply for the wagon. For example, rear shock absorbers are quoted. The wagon does not have rear shocks or dampers as such, but instead has hydraulic struts. The softer rear springs carry most of the base load and the struts carry the rest and the extra due to loading. You also have air cells or accumulators with the self levelling rear end. Again, I don't know if these need changing. If some of these do need changing it could become a costly exercise. One thing I do know is that it is not acceptable to simply adjust the rear self levelling ride height for a lower ride. This will simply cause the self levelling to become ineffective and may even cause damage.

Greg is right about shock absorbers, but Bilstein should have the right hydraulic struts for it. At list there is an exemple of it in Bentley's manual.
