1986 300E starts intermittently
My '86 300E will start most times, but will not start on occasion (hot or cold). I used either once and it started, so I believe it's fuel related. How do I check the fuel relay?
The car always had a unique starting procedure: I turn the key on and allow the ignition buzzer to stop (or a few seconds) before starting the car.
The car runs strong once started.
Thanks in advance.

That beamer is a beauty. I'll have to take a photo of my '86 300E first, but I'll post it (I already violated the wrong forum). BTW, I love the '86. I'm looking at the following to buy another for the wife:
'05 E320 $10k
'04 E320 $11k
'10 C300 $25k
'06 C230 $12k
Which one?
Thanks,

I love those year "E's". Would love to see it.
Definitely stay away from the '04 E320. The W211 is a beautiful body style but was a quality disaster those first years which is why it's so cheap. Also the "320" motor is very anemic IMO.
The '05 would be a better choice but with the W211's I'd stay with '06+ years essentially.
Of course the best there in terms of dependability would be the '10 C300 but of course the price is mega high. I'd recommend looking into some low mileage '08/'09 C300's/C350's as the prices should be somewhere in between the '10 and the cheaper models listed.
