Front Seat Motors

Hi, I have a 1987 300TD wagon and the motors in the front passenger seat died while the seat was down. I was wondering if anyone knows about a manual override to raise the seat, or if anyone knows any other way to fix this problem?

Thanks,
Sam

I think you might need to get a new motor.

Not sure what kind of diagnostics you have done to verify that the motor is the culprit, but the seat switch (on the door) is ususally what causes these things to stop working. They are relatively cheap (compared to replacing motors) and fairly easy to replace. You also may want to check your fuses...

There is no manual adjustment once the motor fails.

he said his motor died. not the switch is broken. so im assuming he did diagnostic and told us that the motor is dead. Unless he is lieing. Then you are right. it could be the switches.

front passenger seat

I have a 87 300D -- the passenger seat only worked for moving front to back, but no recline. Replacing the fuse did the trick even the head rest started to work -- on both seats!

Since then the fuse has blown again - I haven't taken the time to replace it.

Check that first!
