Another wheel discussion :)
So I am hoping to increase my wheel size to a 16 from the 15 thats on there today I have looked around allot trying to find comparable OEM wheels from different cars that will work.. I found this: It cant be this simple
My e320 cab is a 5 lug 112 M wheel here are the compatible's ?? thoughts

no, it can't be that simple!
you're missing two inputs to your equation; offset and bolt hole size.
for example, a W140 wheel may not fit due to being too high of an offset and uses 14mm lug bolts where the W124 uses 12mm.
Having said that you can often solve the first issue with spacers and the second with new lug bolts (they make hybrids that have a 14mm seat but a 12mm shank). This is probably the best source.

lots of cars
All 16" wheels from these models fit and have 12mm bolt holes. It's not that complicated, just get the right length of bolts.

Thanks for the input...I went ahead and got a 16 inch wheel off a 1996 e320 to replace the 15 inch with the same look just a slightly bigger wheel and tire size. pretty much the same look and feel. I was not looking to change the look from the original to much.
thanks

Wheel sizes and compatibility
Although your end choice is a good fit, you should really spend some time understanding what wheel sizes are and which ones will fit a 124 and why.
The 3 wheel sizes are rim width, rim diameter and rim offset, and it's important to understand all three.
For a W124 a typical wheel size could be 7.5J x 16H2 et 40, and a tire to go on it should be 205/55 R16, which give an overall tire diameter of about 25 inches. W124 speedometers are calibrated for 25 inch diameter tires, so you should try to coordinate the wheels you buy with tires that have a diameter of 25", or close to it.
The 124's were designed for 6.5" x 15" rims running 195/65 R15 tires which ='s a perfect 25" tire diameter.
So when moving to larger rims, you need to compensate by using tires with a narrower sidewall, so you can maintain the target 25" diameter.
205/55 R16 has a diameter of 24.9, close enough...
Rim width and rim diameter have finite limits, especially on a 124.
I wouldn't go wider that 7.5" on fronts, and 8.5 on the rears, and even then you may get some slight rubbing in the rear.
A perfect set of 16" wheels are like my AMG Aero I's on my 94 E420,
7.5J x 16H2 et40 with 205/55 R16 tires.
Offset (Also called "ET"), is very important. It is a measurement that places the wheel "Centered" with-in the wheel well.
Each type car is designed for it's own Offset, and 124 wheel offsets are "generally" between 35 and 45mm, with some exceptions.
The offset for a 123 or 126 might be in the 20's, and putting one of those wheels on a 124 would make the wheel stick out of the wheel well, or close to it...tire rubbing the outer fender.
The offset for a 140 or 164 might be in the high 50's or low 60's, and on a 124 that wheel would be mounted way inside, rubbing the inner suspension.
"Most" E Class wheels are all compatible, except for the newer models, W210 & W211 wheels that aren't too wide, are usable on a 124.
Also compatible are W201, W202, C203, C208, R179, R171, R172, as long as you don't choose those that are too wide.
Scroll through these lists of wheel & tire sizes by model type... you will see the differences and similarities

Too wide a tire even on a rim meant for a 124 will rub as well, so you need to understand wheel & tire sizing to make it all work correctly.
As far as lug bolts go, a standard rule is the threads should stick through the back side of the wheel 17 to 20 mm, no more no less.
Don't complicate an easy upgrade with mismatched wheels and tires.
I see you picked 96 E class wheels, good size choice if you like those looks.
Assuming they are 7.5" wide rims, the tires that match that wheel and a 124 are 205/55 R16, and I would guess your stock lug bolts would fit as well.
Good luck
