3hrtour Final results of the 1995 E320 cab Suspension project

First I would like to say thank you to all the folks that put up with my learning curve. , 2nd the information I received from this board was great. I was able to see all the different ways to get this project done from many points of view.

I still don't have a picture yet but will soon...

the project was to update a 1995 e320 cab that needed suspension, wheels, tires, and electronices. the goal on the look was to really keep it looking as stock as possible but give it sportier look and feel than the original.

I did the following:

added H&R sport springs front and back, this dropped the car about 1.5 inches
added Bilstien sport shocks tot he from and bilstien on the back
Replaced the 15 inch original wheel with a 16 inch wheel that looks the same(1996 flavor) 16 inch 7.5

Replaced the tires with 215/r55/16 - - slight larger and wider
Replaced the old becker with a new kenwood that give me all the latest tech except Nav, including Sat, Bluetooth, mp3, internet radio, CD and so forth

from the engine perspective I have already done the wiring harness, head gasket, water pump and a couple other things.

the total cost of the project including parts and labor for installation was not the cheapest but since i can't do the work myself, I need others. total cost was around 3700.00 for all parts and labor
vendors I used were Pelican parts, for the suspension, CCID for the wheels(Ebay), crutchfield for the stereo unit and sat hookup.

thanks all for the help I can honestly say I could not of done it without the folks on the board.

I am guess with addition of the new sport shocks the shock is wider and not fitting as thought

I am getting close and I hoping the 5 mm spacer will do the trick

I received the new 5 mm wheel spacers and new longer lug bolts.. and it worked perfect... the space between the tire and shock is about 2-3mm.. a bit close but it seems to work pretty good. I will post pictures today... it looks pretty much stock with a more modern sporty flair that a lower car with bigger wheels and wider tires (215 R55) vs (195 r55) will bring. as far as the suspension goes, I put on bilstien sports in the front and they feel great. I added non sport in the back I am I am not sure about them yet.. I need more time in the car... but I might swap them out for a sport shock to match the front if i can find anything.. Pelican did not seem to have any additional rear shock for this car... it possible they dont make them for good reason,, LOL I may need to live with what I have already installed

Here are the pictures...

Picture are in the other post ... I could not use them again for some reason so i deleted them here and reposted them

So this was lowered by 1.5 inches using H&R sport springs, sport Bilstien front and normal shocks in the back that, 16 OEM e320 1996 wheels, and 215 r55 bridgestone serenity plus tires. Also had the entire suspension reviewed and parts replaced as needed also replace rear bumper and repaint paint the front,( it was beginning to peel and show it's age) at the same time.

If not for this website i would have never been able to get this done. I was provided with enough info and data to make the decision I needed and find my own parts to meet my need, I also upgraded the wheel caps LOL. the car looks exactly the way i want it to, its Almost factory fresh with an updated look and it rides better than I was originally thinking it would, always a nice surprise.

I have one project left.. not sure its possible... I need to make the seat more comfy and thoughts on that front::
