Convertible top replacement DIY?
Convertible top replacement DIY?
My convertible top has a few wear holes worn into it. They are small but I would like to have an intact top.
Has anyone on the forum used one of those replacement tops available on E-Bay for about $500 and replaced the top themselves?
I am hoping to get some advice on the difficulty/feasibility of doing this myself this summer.
Any help appreciated

Cabriolet top replacement is not for the faint of heart nor for the inexperienced or ill equipped. I have owned more convertibles than I can count over the years and have replaced the tops on many of them myself and I can tell you from first hand experience that the MB tops are a wonder to behold in operation, but a nightmare to install. I recommend you seek professional help - you will need it one way or the other.

If it were like a TR3, yes, you can tackle it yourself prolly, not so easy on the W124 top.
Not sure I'd buy a replacement top off eBay, but that is just me. You'll get what you pay for either way.
