M103 starting problem
hey guys, just looking for some opinions here. here in Calgary, it gets cold as F*** in the winter (obviously lol) and ive been having starting issues, it will turn over and then suddenly die. the only way for me to get it to idle is to hold it to about 10x rmps for a minute or two and it will then idle by itself. Part of me thinks that maybe it's an injector issue or maybe the oil i have in it is on the heavy side, and its due for a change any day now. It also has a bit of a coolant leak (but the head gasket was just redone on it not long before i bought it) Honestly im still very new to old benzes so i have no idea where to start. Is there an OBC plug in or something i could do a computer diagnostic with or am I going to have to do this the old fashioned way to diagnose it? Btw it does start a bit easier when i have use the webasto heater if that helps at all.

If you're able to, put a block warmer on it - or an electrical blanket or something to keep the engine from freezing. We often have this problem in our company vehicles in the dead of winter (it was diagnosed as IACV, for what that's worth). You could try cleaning your IACV, it might help and it seems pretty simple.

I'll probably do this as a summer project, it's warming up here so it's getting time to prep the E32 for summer duty
