1995 E320 Wagon
Weird Steering wheel play, 1995 e320 wagon

Mine was 1995 E320 wagon.

I noticed something weird about the steering wheel when I drove onto a burger store drive through lane: the car was idling and waiting to move to the next window with the front wheels turned at about 45 degrees; THE STEERING WHEEL COULD TURN FREELY with little friction 20 degrees without the front wheels turning; the front wheels would very slightly wiggle but not change the angle while I rocking the steering wheels

When the wheels are straight, the play still happens, but does not seem that serious.

Any comments or thoughts? Thanks!!

Sounds very bad. Could be center link or tie-rod ends.
