1992 400E Intro

Just wanted to introduce my '92 400E to this forum. I'm a big W124 fan and I checked out this forum extensively before I purchased this 400E on craigslist. I ended up getting it for $480, however hood and fender paint clearcoat was pealing, tires were near bald, and 8-hole OEM wheel paint was pealing as well. Engine and transmission are in great shape; not a vibration or a delay in gear changes. Very quick for it's age, mpg isn't too bad either. Car has now just over 230k miles, but previous owner was a Merc technician and it looked like he took care of it since car had new OEM battery, brakes and fluids. AC doesnt seem to work though... I checked out history and wire harness was already replaced at around 150k. I am the 4th owner now.
So far, I've given it a full top paint over, added 17" wheels+new tires (still looking for Aero II monoblocks though), plasti-dip sprayed front and rear impact strips, and replaced all us-spec lights with depos all around (thanks forum members for the us to euro wiring diagram!).
At some point, I'd like repair or replace lower front bumper, re-add "400e" emblem onto the trunk, and to drop the car about an inch...any recommendations?
Hope you like the ride.
I can tell you now that if you lower the car with springs (they usually drop b/t 1.5 and 2") , you will have probably have problems as the rims on there now....the offset on them looks to be too low. Def the rears looks like they will rub on the outer fender if you go lower.
You could mildly lower the car without springs by just changing the spring pads to the #1 bump pads for the W124s...that might get you a 1/2" of drop all around.
