1995 E300D runs warm
I just bought a really clean 95 E300D that runs warm when I let it idle with the AC on. I just got it yesterday and it seems to be a good car, it's got great maintenance records. Anyway, it runs warm...but I haven't let it sit there idling to see just how hot it will get. If I start driving it cools down pretty quick. I checked the coolant, it's in good condition and full. I'm wondering if it's an aux fan or a fan clutch. Just wondering if there are any common issues I need to know about with these running hot. It's had an engine harness and an evaporator already.
Any insight would be appreciated.

Running hot, my girlfriend runs hot also, but unlike her, you have a gauge to tell you the engine coolant temp----where is the red needle indicating temp at!!

105 C and climbing before I either shut it off or resume driving. Once I start driving the temperature slowly comes back down to 85C... Which is where it stays anytime I'm driving.

Make sure the coolant is to the mark in reservoir and is the MB approved type--not red, green, but almost clear.
Then I would change the thermostat!!

It's full to the mark and it's the typical gold colored fluid that I've run in all of my Mercedes.
Is your thinking that the thermostat is stuck open?
