Beautiful Mercedes...duh
I hope you do not mind jumping in your thread here with a couple of questions of my own

What is a cargo cover? I do not believe my 300TE has one, but I guess knowing what it is would help

Can you, are anyone, tell me the difference between an E320 and a 300TE?

Thanks a bunch

I drove a 1995 E320 wagon; it did not have a cargo cover so I did not buy it. The cover was an option; about a grand is my recollection as to what it cost. This cover had a net that pulled up vertically and attached to the sides/ceiling; keeps things from flying forward under hard braking (dogs, kids, etc).

The second feature of the cover is a vinyl colour coordinated sheet that pulls out horizontally and attached to the wagon tail gate. This covers the rear of the car and provides security/privacy. It also keeps the sun off the rear of the car and that will help it to not fade as quickly.

While one can purchase the unit there are all sorts of things that must be done to prepare a car to use it if it was not equipped with the cover unit from the factory. I decided to find a car that had the cover standard.

re
e320 vs 300te

Primary difference is the twin cam 24 valve 3.2 L engine that puts out around 217bhp vs the SOHC 12 valve 3.0 L engine with 177 bhp. Probably costs a little more for a top end, might leak a little more according to my mechanic. Practical power is not that much different at lower RPM. Definitely quicker when you hit 4000 rpm.

Lots of option/trim changes; too many to detail.

I like that cargo cover idea. Mine has tinted windows and spends very little time sitting in the sun, so that will help the fading and security issues. Good luck

Thanks for the info
