400E Suspension

Hey,
I have been looking for upgrades to my suspension, i.e. new springs, shocks, sway bars, etc. and have been unable to find anything that says, or anyone who is sure that the products will work on an 8 cyl. I was wondering if anyone would know where i would be able to find products that i could use for my 400E.
Thanks in advance.

Check out the link below. It's well detailed even including part numbers. This person did a Sportline (factory) suspension upgrade for his 400e. This is what I'd do if/when I have the money.

I would not bother if I were you. Tried Eibachs and H&Rs with my Bilsteins(Sports). Car gets too low. Fenders need rolling and tires rub. Unable to carry passengers in the rear. Had to take the springs off.

Sportline stuff is OK...do you have the self-levelling system on it....if so, keep it.

For about the same money...try H&Rs with adjustable Konis up front and stock hydro-struts in rear(I have this set-up) and put 3 or 4 bump pads in it if it gets too low for your liking. I have 1 bump pads all around with 18" rims and the ride isn't that bad at all; and as you would expect, it is very nice for the track and auto-x.

Defeating the SLS is PITA IMO....need to get a new P/S pump and plug all the lines up.

You will not have to do any fender mods if you have stock wheels and lower your car. I can load my trunk full and have 3 people in the back and my car never rubs.
Chceck out my website I have a bunch of info on my suspension and all you need to do to have it work correctly. Even how to roll your fenders yourself.
Analysis of E420 Suspension mods
Analysis of 18 in wheels on E420
Look at the rest of the site too.

Awesome site, very informative. I do have 17's though for the summer, they are enough for the moment. Btw where did you get the swaybar?
Thanks in advance

A member had it for sale, just keep your eyes open. You can get it at the dealer, or through almost any mercedes parts house or even junk yard, about 150 new. Thank you for the comments.
