Use power steering fluid. It's like transmission fluid without the additives. You didn't state what year your Benz is. If it's over ten years old, definitely use ps fluid, as the additive package in Dexron has changed over the years. The new additives can be tough on the old seals. I use power steering fluid for my 95 (and all other cars in my fleet).
