resistor pack in cabin fan
I am certain that earlier last year I had seen posts regarding cabin fans that will not go beyond low fan speed despite the indication on the dash that the fan is at high speed.
I cannot remember whether they were germaine to my specific Benz (1997 E320) or not, but I've now lost all but lowest fan speed and it's pretty darned cold to be running only lowest fan/heater speed in the Pittsburgh area these past few weeks!
I can't find the thread via a search at this time. Can anyone re-post or does anyone remember that partucular thread?
Thanks,

The fan speed is regulated by a transistorised "blower motor regulator." On the older E-classes (W124) is was installed in the heater box near the blower so as to keep the regulator cool.
Also, your '97 E320 is the W210 chassis. You should post your questions there instead. The 210 owners will be able to help you more.

Thank you for the info and the advice. I had intended to post immediately to both forums but got side tracked and just got back to MBWorld!
I thought the later 124's also had the resistor packs like the 210's.
Take care.
