Tranny fluid

Newbie here. Just acquired a 93 300E, 127000 miles. Do not know the last time the tranny fluid was changed, but it looks good. Want to change it anyway so I know where things start. My owners manual makes no reference to the type fluid required. I searched the forums and saw some were using Mobile synthetic. My question is do you have to use MB tranny fluid or will the normal brands you can buy anywhere be ok. If so which should I buy. thanks and look forward to being around................Hig

Welcome to the forum!

The OEM fluid for the transmission is made by Febi-Bilstein. Many people use Redline synthetic ATF instead.
