intermittent missing

I just got a 95 320 wagon ( to replace the 87 300D that was smashed ).

It runs fine except sometimes it idles rough - it seems to be missing. This condition occurs intermittently and is independent of engine temperature.

There is no check engine light.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Alan

First things to check are spark plugs and injectors. The injectors themselves might be worn out, or the seals are leaking (allowing air ingression).

Not to forget the spark plug cables. If the "missings" happen during damp and humide wheather conditions it may call for the cable(s). It is normally hard to determine which cable does it, especially it happens randomly only. If you still run the original cables take them out and clean them thoroughly and treat them with WD40. If it gets better then you know. Missing can also originating from a dirty, worn or damaged distributor cap and finger.
