Bad wiring harness. Part out our E320 or?

Bad wiring harness. Part out our E320 or?
So, last year my daughter bought a 95 E320 from a friend of thefamily for $1000. It had 270k miles but ran strong.
Even though we did some research on the car, we didn't discover the biodegradable wiring harness issues till the engine started to shake last week. After we noticed some exposed wiring at the fuel injectors, we pulled back the harness wraps a bit and were amazed at the level of deterioration. I've seen cars from the 40's with original wiring that didn't come close to this level of failure.
So, with the wiring harness costing more than we paid for the car, we aren't terribly keen on throwing good money after bad.
I'm thinking we part out what we can and scrap the rest. Thoughts?
If we go that route, I'd love to get some suggestions regarding what parts might be worth a few bucks so she can attempt to minimize her loss.

The upper harness is available new(with good insulation), but as you point out, it's probably about $1K.
If it were me and I felt the rest of the car was good, I'd invest for the harness. If you can find a harness from a salvage yard with a build date after 98, they are all good. There are bound to some 95's in the scrap yard with good replacement harnesses. It's worth the look to save the car...
Just looked on eBay, here is one built in 2009 for $250....
PS: go to a dealer and verify the part number to be sure

There are videos on Utube that shows how to change it out, one plug at a time..
Save the car.. for $250 it's worth it.. Good Luck

Thanks, @ollenbeck. I agree. if I could source a harness for $250, I'd do that.
The one you shared is part number A124.440.2933. Mine is the later version A124.440.4905.
I've yet to locate a newer 124.440.4905 that is less than $1000.
