Oil Pressure Readings at Idle

I saw an earlier thread on this topic, but still had some questions. When I apply any throttle my oil pressure climbs easily, but after the engine has warmed up a bit, the gauge always reads 0 Bar at idle. I've heard conflicting stories, some alleging the gauge is really more of a dummy switch and that it isn't a problem and some that say it's an issue. The car's been this way for awhile and I've seen no problems that would indicate a lack of oil pressure, and I check fairly often to make sure the engine is topped up, as I know these engines can sometimes be prone to leaking.
So my question is, does this happen to anyone else, and is it an issue that my gauge says I have no oil pressure at idle, even though I never lose pressure when using the throttle.
The car is a W124 Estate with the 3.2 M104 engine and about 126 thousand miles on the clock.
Thanks in advance to any that may have information on this!

You are being confused by all the misinformation over at Bens Wurld.

Oil pressure testing is done with a tool connected to the filter housing and the M104 pressures should be as follows:

600-700=1.3

You are confused with all the HS and misinformation at Bens Wurld. Oil pressure is tested with a tool connected to the oil filter and the pressures should be as follows:

600\700=1.3bar

1000=2.2

2000=4.8

3000=5.1

4000=5.3

you drive a 22 year old car, perhaps your gauge\system is dirty or faulty!!

Okay, I will look into getting one of those tools and checking, thank you so much!
