Exclamation can someone identify this part in front of the engine?

It is a w124 e220 RHD facelifted model. My temperature gauge always stays just above 40 degrees after car warms up. My car had been due for water pump change so , when the engine cover was removed , this is what the previous owner had done to the car. I would like to know if this is the coolant temperature sensor or what part it is ? kindly help me find the part info. Thank you

what sensor is this ? name & part number pls

My guess is that on your 111.960 you are pointing to the temp sensor used with the AC system, part number 008 542 45 17
