The two middle air vents for the heat and a/c are not blowing any air. I don't feel anything coming out of them as I'm driving or with the fan on full blast. The two vents on the side work fine. What could be the cause of this and could I fix it myself even though I rarely do anything more than add wiper fluid to my car?

Most likely the actuator is leaking and can not open the flap. I think you can get to it by removing the glove box. I can check into this more if you want.

Thanks very much, but hold off on researching it. I'm taking the car in for service tomorrow for something else and might just have them look at it.

the two centre vents only blow air at the outside temp. and won't recycle inside air.

my vents are the oppisite to your - they are permanently open.
