Why not use H&R springs designed for the 300E? I did this to mine and they worked very well; ride was slightly firmer. Whatever you decide, you may want to use shortened shocks like Bilsteins. I did not and wore our 2 pairs of rear shocks that could not keep up with the H&Rs. With this detup, the 300 looks great, all hunkered down and no more wheel gap in the wheel wells.

All 500Es , I'm pretty sure, come with self-levelling. What part number do you have for your H&R springs?

I'd also recommend you put H&Rs designed for your car...the 500E is a heavier W124 car.
