Looking at a 1993 400E

I will be checking out a 1993 400E this afternoon. It has 175k and the owner says the "only" issues are AC does not blow cold and one of the rear windows does not work. Could the AC issue just be a coolant refill or could there be a problem with the evaporator and how do you tell? I have read that that could be an issue with 94's and up but I haven't seen it an issue with the 93's.
I know that this model had the eco wiring harness, so I will checking for that, but what other gremlins should I be on the look out for?

evap - not sure about the 93 year myself, but high suspect it is, I would pay for a PPI and let an expert trouble shoot it

windows, whatever is wrong it's easily fixed, and not too exp.

Wire harness(S), yes plural, everyone forgets about the lower harness which suffers the same fate, as well as the internal wiring in the ETA.
You can buy new upper harnesses still, and find good used ETAs, (or new for $$$$), But the lower harness is NLA
You can get the existing one rebuilt, a few places will do it.

I would recommend the 400E's , get past the problems and you'll have a great car for years..

if taken care of, the 175K is nothing, my 94 E420 has 188K I think, and runs like new, does not burn any oil and is one of the best cars I've owned

If you can buy it cheap enough, and can get it fixed correctly, you'll never regret it, a solid and surprisingly fast car....
