non functioning AC and cruise control
Hi all,
Thanks to this wonderful forum I got my car rid of the problem of the coolant puddle .....
it was the water pump .....the labor costs were exorbitant but at least it is fixed ...........
I also have a few more problems :
1) The air conditioning does not work , how ever the heating does !
2) The cruise control does not work at all, I have tried it a zillion times and it does not work at all.
3) I hear quite a lot of sounds which i think are coming from the front suspension and it is getting increasingly louder any ideas how i can check the suspensions front and rear of the car ,
any advise will be greatly appreciated

1) Does the A/C work at all, or just poorly? Check the receiver drier sight glass for air bubbles in the refrigerant.
2) Cruise control has 4 components: control switch, Hall sender, amplifier, and throttle actuator. Amplifier and actuator are usually the first two components to go bad.
3) Front suspension noise could be worn-out ball joints. Jack up the passenger side and shake the wheel by grabbing the 12 and 6 o'clock positions. Veritcal play = failing ball joint. Other front end noises might be sway bar bushings.

The Ac doesnt work at all ....
Thank u for the hints but I know nothing abt cars so pls tell me where I can look for the relays , amplifiers and the fuses ! I would be very greatful the make is a 1987 300E

The amplifier is under the knee shield beneath the steering column.
