Like to say goodbye to all!
Well i guess its time for me to say goodbye to all in this forum. Im finally letting my 300E rest. I have just purchased a newer ride... 98' Mercedes C Class AMG. =\ Only reason why i purchased this is because a friend of mine is selling it for 2k with engine problems. But working at my family owned auto repair shop we see this as a STEAL. So yes i can't keep up with my minor nick-nacks that my 300E has be giving me so i decided to put my money into a newer ride. You all shall be missed! LOL

You actually think that anyone in the American government has anything to do with the price of gas? Wow, the liberals are doing their job well... America has some of the cheapest gas in the world right now. Europe is paying double what we are. The oil doesn't come from America so the American government does not set the prices. I'm not a Bush lover or even a Republican, but don't blame the government for something they have no control over.

Yes, oil DOES come from AMERICA! you know the continent. If you mean the U.S has the cheapest gas in the world that's wrong too. It's the fault of the Bush administration by invading iraq for the high gas prices.

If you read up on the news the U.S is trying to push mexico into privatizing PEMEX which by the mexican constituion belongs to the people.

US dollar down + Oil traded in Dollars + Oil futures purchased on speculation + OPEC production limits = $4.00 per gallon.
Yes the Iraq thing effects it but we get less than 7% of our oil from Iraq.
When the Dollar strengthens prices will go back down. Don't drive so much Go spend your stimulis check on a set of rims or something and it will "trickle down" (Regan-omics even though Dems won't admit it (not Democrat bashing just a fact same as Republicans won't admit that Kennedy was the greatest diplomatic President)) Apparently I really like using parenthetical statements

first of all, the largest supplier of crude oil to the US is Canada.
second of all, one of the bigger contributing factors of high prices is inflation of the dollar, because globally, oil is pegged to the dollar. as we devalue our currency (on purpose - take a macro econ course), gas will become more expensive, in dollar terms.
third of all, europeans pay the same amount as us for raw fuel, the difference in price is because of phenomenal taxes levied by their governments.
i understand gas companies must make a profit. but explain this to me.
oil consumption in the US rises by about 1 to 3 percent a year.
you would expect oil company profits to increase maybe what, 5, even 10%, if they were greedy?
oil prices jumped by about 60% in the last year, so even looking at uncertain supply, this is ridiculous.
so if the 'cost' of crude oil rose by 60%, and then gas companies increased their prices by 60%, then they should make close to the same amount of money, give or take.
but they are making billions more... so obviously, they are charging us relatively more for oil than they are buying it for, hence the bigger profits, even taking devaluation into account.
seems unfair, but at least we're punishing them by... giving them tax breaks...
sorry hellah fresh... post up some pics of your new car!

I didn't say it THE cheapest I said it's Some of the cheapest. Last I checked, we were not drilling for oil in the US. The spotted owl is more important to us. I read the news every day, for all it's worth, and America does not control OPEC. The leader of Iran (I can't spell his name) said that $115/bbl is CHEAP. Now, even Bush would not say that. You can blame the high cost of "health care" on the US government, but not gas.
This stimulus package will trickle down to china.... Go spend your money on chinese made goods...
Anyways, any picks of that s500?
