disable factory alarm

I have a 88' 300E, and recently the alarms goes off by itself, randomly, when I open the hood, or just opening the door while the car is running, of even while driving.

Is there an easy way to disable the alarm? I am assuming this is the factory alarm.

Thanks for your help.

yes i had this same problem with my 87 300D. you have to disable it by unplugging wires from the alarm module which is located near the front passenger seat if i remember right.

Is there a fix to this problem. Mine started doing this last week, I've noticed that it only does it when it's hot as hell outside. Rather than disable I'd like to fix this problem.

I disabled mine on my 87 TD Wagon by pulling up the passenger side mat and disconnection the connector from the alarm module.
