Power Steering Pump

Well, i was driving home this evening from work and i had an issue, My power steering which i checked before i went to work didn't work. It was at the proper level before work and just now when i checked it, it was below low and it was making the gurgling noises. I think i may be the pump but i toped it to where it should be and i can feel vibrations in the wheel when turning it.
Any help would be appreciated. TIA

Well, after a night of sitting, the car is swimming in a nice pool of power steering fluid, obviously it isn't supposed to be like that. Could anyone help me as to the issues that could cause a pool to form under my car? Thanks

Enzo, my Benzo
You will
a) need a new steering pump or steering box - expensive
b) need a re-seal kit for your steering box - reasonable

I did b) on my car and for $300 it works perfectly now...hopefully it is not situation a)

Thanks Zorro, if it were to be option a.) would i have to replace both the box and the pump or solely one or the other?

This is a chronic problem on these cars. Had my '94 done at purchase (about $850 and covered by the dealer). My neighbor has a '92 and his just went out this week.

Good luck and keep us posted which way it goes.

Well, just heard at about midnight what the issue is, it's the pump and it is a serious issue. I picked the car up today because i need transportation and my indie can't help me but next week while i'm away it will be completed, no quote yet, but my mechanic will take care of it and all will be good, would it be a good idea to upgrade the steering box while im at it?
