I want to replace the 15" with 16" rims and found a great deal for a set from a '96 S-Class. Will this work? According to Tire Rack, when comparing similar rims, the off set is +40mm vs. +38mm. Bolt pattern is the same. Can anyone help?

The holes in the wheel for the bolts are different, because the bolts used on the cars are different sizes. This is a pretty serious difference.Originally Posted by E320Cabriolet

It should fit. I have 17 X 7.5's on my car and had no problem fitting them. If you need proof check it out....http://members.cardomain.com/rideatmidknight

They DO NOT fit.
The S-Class cars (W140 Coupe, Sedan, W220 and W215) and now the new W211 E-Class, and the ML SUV use lug bolts of 14mm diameter - the other cars use 12mm-diameter lug bolts.
