Exclamation PLEASE HELP!! W124 Deleted Alarm = No Radio Sound = Dome light always On.

Hi guys I´m new here. Hope I can Make new friends.

I Just bought a 1995 E420 with Becker Sound one month ago and yesterday wen I opened the door and started the car suddenly the dome light turned on with the dome switch on "the door open" position and the radio didnt make any sound so I got sorprised,

My next acction was to turn off the car to maybe "reset" and my sorprise was that the car didn´t started, It was dead or like if the battery was dead.

Making a research on the web after I towed the car home, I founded that its a common issue on most W124 that the Alarm suddenly stop working, so I decided to remove the alarm module and make a bypass on the Pin 1 and pin 2 on the 14 pin connector to avoid the car inmovilizer and voila!! the car started again.🤣

But Now the Becker radio turns on correctly but it doesnt make any sound, also the dome light keeps "on" with the dome switch on the door open position wich before yesterday they turned off when I close the door. I checked the door switch pin and also works right.

Is there something else that I need to by pass or do to let de full system work with the alarm module removed???
Please Help!!!

If your W124 is like my W201, the radio also has an alarm on it. Your car should have a window sticker noting the anti theft device for the radio that stops the radio from working if someone tries to remove the radio. Sounds like the radio alarm is connected in some way to the main factory anti theft alarm and that might be why there's no sound from the radio. I think in this case, I would suggest sending an email to the MB Classic Center in California. They'll best know how the radio alarm connects into the overall car alarm and can best advise you on your next steps.

Try classicparts@mbusa.com or 1-866-622-5277. They're all working from home due to COVID so that might effect response times.
