I can't find what model this steering box goes to. W124
Hello! I'm new to this forum and signed up because I am stumped!
Last year, when buying some parts for my 300TE, the seller basically just threw in a steering box for free. He said it was a rare part for a Sportline 124.
I have googled the part numbers on the box many times and can't figure out if that's true or what car this box comes from.
The PNs on the box are: 124 461 04 01 124 461 00 05
There are a few other numbers on it but none follow the PN naming format except for those two.
The one with number 124 4610401 is for 190E W201 10 October 1982 08 August 1982 petrol and diesel .
Your other number you say is W124 is in fact a W126 461 005 i will check this now.Better lok it is 124 .But no joy on that one

I'd search for a good used late production w124 Sportline steering gearbox for the better part of a year; I was being cheap. . Ultimately a like-kind '94 E320 Coupe (Canadian) donor provided a 124 461 08 01, a W124 Sportline gearbox. While the donor VIN is no longer, it had been identified as having the production Sportline option.
