1990 W124 Hard Steering
Hello everyone,
I got a 1990 200D and for the last 2 years I've been plagued with a hard steering. My steering always was soft and easy, since this is my daily (with about 1 inch of center play, fine for me).
The symptoms are quite easy to explain. The steering is heavy in any position (specially in the first half lock off-center). This wasn't a 1 day thing, it took about 2/3 months from being soft and nice to hard.
In the last 2 years I've replaced quite a lot of stuff:
- Tires (Michelin's PremiumContact with 205's in the regular 15'' wheel)
- Steering Pump
- Steering Pump rebuild !! (all new stuff including filter)
- Steering fluid
- Steering damper
- Lower Balljoints
- Lower Bushes
I'm quite lost about this.. the steering is quite heavy, seems like I'm driving an old truck.
Any ideias would be helpful
