Hep needed finding a part

I took my 1991 300E to the shop last week because it was difficult to start. On the day I took it, the car developed a misfire, but I got it to the shop. The shop just called me and said that he thinks it needs a fuel distribution pump, but he can't find one. And he said it would be very expensive if he could find one.

Can you help me find one?

Have others had this problem? Is it possible that the fuel distribution pump is not the true problem?

He checked and there is spark at all the cylinders and there is fuel getting to the fuel distribution pump. I am open to all suggestions. Thanks.

Take it to a shop familiar with the CIS fuel system. Not likely it's the fuel distributor. Try an old school VW/Porsche shop
