Relay clicking

1994 e320 cab.... Replaced a dead battery, car started fine. But, a relay behind the fuse box started clicking constantly... even when the car was turned off. All functions in the car seem to work fine.... lights, turn signals, wipers, AC/heat.

I tracked the sound to the 6-pin "multi-function relay". Found the model # and ordered a $50 replacement . Replaced the relay and that seemed to have solved the issue as the clicking stopped.... though only temporarily.

But, the next time I started the car, the clicking started again. The only way to get it to stop is to disconnect the battery or remove Fuse #9. Wondering if Fuse 9 is a clue?
If I remove that fuse, the clicking stops. The car starts and runs fine, but the Radio and interior lights do not work... and maybe other features.

Any ideas would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
Cliff

Test your antenna, unplug it, and retest.

Just started having the exact same issue with my 1993 300CE-24 cabrio. Did you get to the bottom of this (or can anyone else advise pls)?
