Help! Keys locked in car :(

This morning while working on my son's 93 400e, the doors mysteriously locked when I closed the door – without any help from ME! I had left the keys on the interior console after opening the hood of the car and shutting the driver’s door. I called him and his other set of keys is also in the car.

He told me his 400e will sometimes just locks without any help, which is a problem I’ll deal with later.

Is there any way to gain entry into a 93 400e (w124)? I have the hood open, but all the doors and trunk are locked.

The doors appear to tight for a coat hanger.

do you have the plastic strip from boxes? i dont know what its called. its a thin plastic that they wrap around boxes for shipping.

anyway, get a length of that. fold it in half and crease it.

now feed that through the seal on the right (left for me) hand side of the drivers door and wrap it around the pin.... pull tight and pop up
(i can open my door in 15 secs!)

hehe

mod's will probably want to remove this post, but it is informative.

....

i locked my keys in my RUNNING c240.... MB wasnt able to use the gps satelite crap to unlock my car because it was turned on.... they sent a mb technician... he used a similar device (as described above).... and broke into my car in about 10 seconds....

he basically slide the tool inside the car by pulling on the right top corner of the door.... shimmed the plastic tool down around the door lock.... and gave it a tug...

good luck...
