So I was cleaning my 300E for the first time since buying it..

and among the random stuff that I found in the glove box, bottle opener, golf *****, business cards, knife, nail file, random garage door opener, I noticed the sticker on the glove box door. No idea what it says, but it has a phone number for something, why is it in german and can anyone tell me what it says. I also discovered a "service center", I think, location guide in there which is also in german.

I've also have two problems,
1) As seen in the pic the mesh net on the back of the driver seat has come off, i can see the screw sticking out from the inside and figured you have to take the seat apart to reattach it. Was wondering if anyone has done it and how difficult it is.
2) Front left speaker is cutting in and out, I've wanted to take it out and make sure it isnt just a short or lose connection, but have no idea where to start in getting at it, because i cant seem to get the speaker cover off with little effort.

Any help would be appreciated.

Unhappy

Translation of your blue sticker:
Scnelle Hilfe zun= For quick assistance

Bitte bei Anruf Fah.....=when calling, get your registration ready.
Seat ??? donno
Speaker: Lift the little plastic strip on the side of the speaker (about 1/2 wide) with a knife or a balde . Be carefull, they are easy to break ($CAn7.50ea)...how do you think I know?
You'll see the screws holding the speaker to the dash.
Good luck

Thanks for the speaker tip.
Do all North American have this sticker in german?

Does anyone have any answers for the seat problem?

Just wanted to welcome you to the W124 world, from one Calgarian to another...

I have some tips for where to take your car for service etc here besides the dealership, as well as where to AVOID like the plague..

hit me up on private message if you have any questions (besides the seat question )

I had the same problem with my seat net also when I got my car. About a 15 - 30 min job. There are two phillips head screws that are nearly vertical (screwed upwards from bottom of seat. Remove those 2 screws and lift up from the bottom. The seat panel (including the net) will fold upwards and give you access to the screws holding the seat net in place. Good luck. YMMV considering my car is older.

The sticker is put on all tourist delivery cars. The book showing dealers is also a tourist delivery item. Therefore, it's likely your car was picked up at the factory.
