newbie advice

I need some advice for my moms 93 e300 which she basically ran into the ground. I was just wondering if these cars are easy to work on. I have some mechanical experience changing timing belts and suspension on my 92 bmw 3 series. Can someone give me some direction on where to start?

whats a good manual to get?

I know so far it has a bad oil leak. probably from the oil pan.

Car has 127K miles and will crank when I turn the key, but will not run. Any advice is great. Thanks.

Dave.

The best overall manual is the W124 owner's bible by stu Ritter. Somebody on this board has a thread about them for sale. However, if the car has been abused, you are probably just wasting your time. IF you get the car running again, something else will always need to be replaced. Mercedes are great cars and will last forever if they been taken care of, but they go to pot very easily if not maintained.
