Service History Check: How to?
Besides Carfax (which only lists reported accidents, mileage, and emissions tests), how do you go about acquiring the service history?

BMW 5ers/Porsche 928s4/Considering '94 W124 E420; Help Dad with his W126 420sel & former W116 450sel
Interestingly enough, the latest CARFAX on the E420 I'm considering lists information about the services performed at "reporting facilities" which I imagine is the dealership or a participating independent shop? Anyone know anything else about this? I was shocked to see how much information was listed in the report.

True, it sometimes lists dealer repair visits and may even show oil and lube servicing. What I'm interested in is the detail on more involved work such as gaskets, wiring, etc.
