230 TE turning indicator not working

Hi all,

I have a 230 TE 1988 W124. Beautiful condition, 180,000km's. Yesterday, a new problem started. The turning indicator stopped working. When the indicator stalk is lifted or pushed down to indicate a turn, a buzzing sound comes from the right side of the steering column above the accelorator pedal (righthand drive vehicle). The indicators show no sign of working. The hazard lights still work. Sounds a bit like a relay not quite been able to flick over. Anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds more like the flasher unit than the relay
