European Headlights
Is it difficult to connect the 5W daytime lights? What is involved?

the city light is not a daytime running light as far as I know. In europe the parking lights we have are the city lights, and the corner lights are just the indicators only. they do not illuminate when the headlights are on.
The function of the city light essentially from my understanding is 2 things, when it is not dark enough for headlights, they add visibility like at dusk, and also when a headlight bulb is burned out, they keep the light lit up with a soft glow so that other drivers coming towards them can see that side of the car so it does not look like a motorcycle.

The answers are almost right. The 5W bulbs are no driving lights in Europe. The are called "Standlicht" which means essentially parking lights only. You are not supposed to drive with these on only. Actually in the northern European countires and in Italy the normal headlights (low beam) have to be on always, like in Canada.
