Need advice...disc brakes seems to be heating up badly

Guys,

ever since I've changes from my azev five spokers to the Rial Daytonas, I've noticed that my disc brakes have been getting a tad bit hotter. I do realise it might be because of my new rims having too many spokes, and thus restricts the air flow to cool the brakes faster, but does anyone else have this problem, especially those with many spoke rims? Last time, right after I've driven for a while and I decided to wash the rim, nothing happened, but now when i get some water splashed into the rims, lotsa steam goes out ( however, this is only to the front rims ).

I know its a big no no to splash water on the disk brakes once its been driven for while, but i'm just worried when I'm driving half way, it rains heavily.

Thanks!

Firstly, if you've used your brakes and splash water on them, they will steam up, no matter what wheels you use - especially with the hot, humid weather you get (of course, I know first hand ). Water on hot metal = evaporation => steam....how did you ever get your degree? (j/k) However, not recommended to do that too often .....

Its the aerodynamics of the wheel as a whole that makes the difference in cooling not the number of spokes. The AMG Style II's are full faced and yet, I understand their cooling capabilities are pretty good. If there's any real concern, then I guess those wheels of yours just ain't designed right brutha...told you to get BBS

LOL....very funny davo..

its just that i've never had this problems before with the five spoker..so i'm just suprised that it has heated like that..the rear wheels are still the same, and no steam comes out after I throw water at it although I've driven it hard. so i'm just curious.:/

haha..dude..i know you're still eyeing those BBS LMs, no?

Actually....no:p . I was looking at BBS CH's but I had to order the rears so I gave them a miss after some thought (even tho they did look kinda striking on the E) - I know I'll miss the weight and the loss of the bling Maybe my wheel guy will pull something out of his hat one of these days or I'll save for the next car.....(just for the heck of it, I'd tried the new Fabulous wheel.....gonna need to get a tan and some gold chains for that )

Ooooohhh noooo, I would never get those "Alphard" wheels, even tho they are actually very light (despite looking heavy).

c'mon...i know you want those rims...

but seriously, the actual rims placed in front of your car does make it looks hot, ( even better then your photoshop chop). plenty of time for you to think it over though.

so those fabulous rims are for the alphard? I like the ricey looking ones..five spokers with an obscene dish effect..( i believe it was a 20 inch X 11.5....)

go for it man!
