BAS/ESP light still on even w/ new brake switch.

I have replaced my brake light switch and nothing. My ESP button works if I don't step on the brake but once I tap the brake pedal the ESP/BAS orange light comes on. I can also put my car in D with out having the brake pedal pressed in (safety issue). I'm not sure what is going on maybe some one here can help me.
Thanks
Mario

Have you tried re-flashing/formatting the computer? I had the same problem once with a "faulty light switch" diagnosis after analyzing my system with DAS. Reformatted the on-board computer and it was all fine again .

I had the same problem as you but I took it to the dealer and they replaced the "stop lamp switch" and it went away. I don't know if they reflashed my computer though.

Good Luck.

Is the stop lamp switch different than the brake light switch? I'm thinking they are the same thing. Cost about $18.00 for the black switch.

I am assuming they are the same, my car was still under warranty so it did not cost me anything. My work order says part #001-545-64-09.
