Any inexpensive a/c repair shops in Central Florida?

So I put up with the squeaky steering problem because I am not ready to part with the $2000 that the local dealer says it will take to fix it and now my air conditioning is starting to blow warm air and the same dealer says (for $150 to look at it and with a straight face) it will be just under $3500 for a new evaporator. On top of that, the tech who looked at it said he can't tell what else it needs until he replaces that. But on the bright side, it still starts, goes, and stops. I don’t know for how much longer but it does for now.

I think they have too many rich retirees down here who don't care what things costs and who will pay whatever it takes. That isn't me. I have a family to support and only bought a MB because I thought it was going to be a quality automobile.

I would like to find an air conditioning repair shop, preferably one that would warranty their work, in the Central Florida area that is more reasonable. I could even consider the Southeast coast area around Ft. Lauderdale.

If anyone has any suggestions on where I could get this done I would appreciate a reply.

Thanks

Just out of curiosity, have you tried taking it to the other dealer in Orlando? There are 2 dealers here now. I would be curious to know if there is a difference?
I have to take mine to where I bought it because of the loaner car situation but once it is out of warranty I might consider the other dealer since it is much closer to my house.

That's a good suggestion and I might consider it further. I did call the other dealer you are talking about one time to see about an oil change and didn't have too much luck. It took a while to get someone to answer the phone and when they did they answered with just a "hello". I thought I dialed the wrong number. Not too professional for a dealership. They were also about 10 per cent higher on their price for the same thing as the first dealer.

On top of that, it looks as though it would cost me at least $150 more (that's what is supposed to be standard a/c diagnostic fee) for any MB dealership to even look at it. It wouldn't surprise me to find that they didn't hook up anything. They probably turn on the a/c to High and take a sniffer around the outlets. If they get an indication of a leak they stop there. If that's what they are doing that's not bad for collecting $150.

Thanks for the suggestion.
