E55 Tail Lights
Hello Everyone,
I have seen many references to "E55 Tail Lights" as a mod in these forums... What is the difference? I had a 1999 E55 and didn't notice any difference...

....Also, the tail light is different from all W210 from year 2000-2002....and the E55's reverse lens is tinted or smoked....clear for non-E55's

There's a BIG DIFFERENCE!. Yet, I didn't know they had a E55 in 99'. I thought they didn't come out til 2000 when they did the facelift.

Just for the record, the smoked MY00+ tailights also came standard on the MY00+ Advantgarde versions of the Euro and Asian W210's - E200, E230, E240, E280, E300, E320, E430 etc. and not just the AMGs.

On your E320, What does your temp gauge read w/o A/C being on and on stop & go in the summer time? Mine some times reaches 95 F.
I see that you have tinted windows in California, what does the law say about that? Thanks

The Law in CA states that you cannot have any tint on the windshield or 2 forward most windows, whether it's even clear or dark. Now, as long as your car has 2 side rearview mirrors, you can tint the rear section of the car as dark as you want, you can even paint it if that's what floats your boat.

Alex remember the first post you gave that you can get the front Carlsson bumpers with all the pic of peoples cars even mine was there, thats when i asked you about the rear, but anyway can you still find out for me if you can get it, i'll be a very happy camper if i get tht bumper by summer time.

I just had these AMG style lights installed on my 97 e420 but now The brake lights dont go on when I press the brakes, instead when I hit the brakes the abs and the asr lights come on. Is there something Different about the way these new lights are wired??? How do I fix it???

I took it in and its all good now somewhere down the line someone yanked the asr wire out of the main harness. The brake light switch was bad too. I get the car back tomorrow so I shall be back at 100%
