Very clean

Is that the larger badge you got or is it the 1.75"? Kinda looks like its sitting more on top of the hood.....could be the pic tho.

Nice job Jim,,,now what about a grill with the star? That mod seems to follow the hoodstar removal.

The emblem is the larger one. I got it at my local dealer as a kit. I know I could have gotten it for less, but I liked the idea of seeing it before I bought it (good quality)) . After seeing the ones on the smaller cars, (CL,s) I liked the idea of the larger one. As far as the grill goes, (not dising anyone who has one) I think it is a little over the top. I like to keep things clean and flowing.

Next up,...Drilled Brembo's, Evo pulleys (still deciding, any info would be appreciated, downside??)

"smaller cars, (CL,s)"????? I don't think a CL would be considered a smaller car....:p

Have you got a view of your emblem on the hood from slightly higher up? Would be good to see how the bigger badge would look relative to the rest of the hood.

Totally agree on the big star grill. To each their own and also not for me and my E

Now for some really creative ideas on what to do with the hood star..........

P.S. Are you typing in all your mods everytime your post? Try cutting and pasting the entire paragraph on the signature (User CP)...that way, it'll come up everytime you post..

Sorry, can't help with the Repair Manual but a kind member has hosted the entire CD for the pre-facelift version, info on many of the interior trimmings, panels etc. which should still apply to your 2000, maybe some of the basic mechanics might also apply. Here's the site:

http://www.edsoto.com/

I've heard no negative feedback on the Evo pullies. Stemags got some but haven't installed them, for the longest time, lol.

Good eyes! That is my neighbors 99 E430 sport. They also have a White 2000 E55, and a green 430, Previous body style not sure what year. Our small condo complex looks like a dealership!

Not bad! One more question, did you find the the front of the (larger) emblem not sit flat on the hood (i.e. there's a gap) because of the curvature on the front of the hood? I'm about to get an MB emblem for a friend's ride and am afraid I won't be able to find the smaller OEM emblem in the shops, so I'm just curious if the bigger one also sits nicely on the hood - otherwise I would get if I end up with a gap.

I looked at the cars that had this size at the dealer and I think it is right for the hood size. I was hung up on the dimple at first but now I am glad I went with this size. The only 44MM I could get were AMG, Bararbis, etc. The emblem I have now sits flat on the hood! Believe it or not, the gap (if any) will be the windshield facing side. But, if you insert badge in adapter first, then put on hood, you will draw the emblem tight against the hood all around. Love it, cant wait for the Brembos!

Yeah, that was my understanding too, that the MB badges only come in the larger size. Glad to hear it sits flat. But I would not screw it too tightly....I went out of control with my wrench thinking that it would draw the emblem flatter - only to find the tightening put a massive dent in the hood! Lucky for some residual MB quality, it all bounced back into place once I released the pressure.......

Maja, Which hood badge did you use? Cant tell from pic. If it is "Benz", Where did you get it, and is it inside the dimple? Also, are those clear lenses on the sranding lights? If so, wher can I get some?
Thanks, Jim

The lights look a hundred time better that the oem but they perform about the same I bought some of the new silver star bulbs by silvania but these new lights use a different bulb I haven't figured out what bulb it is but I'm sure its not something rare. The clear side markers I got on ebay too. heres a link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW
