Painting stock '01 E430 rims black w/ polished lip??
If you want to keep the design of the stock wheels, there are places I've seen listed on the web (can't recall any specifics, but if you do a google search you'll find them) that refinish wheels. Be aware that it's NOT cheap. You didn't mention your car's color, but if it's black or white they'd probably also look awesome chromed. On the other hand, if they're black you don't see the MBZ brake dust!!
Since they're already messed up, you could as a test tape off the edges and spraypaint both wheels on one side black to see if you'd like the change as much as you think. If not, you're only out a few bucks for some Krylon. Since they'd have to be sandblasted back to bare metal for refinishing or powdercoating, that would take care of the black paint test, too.
Good luck and enjoy the ride,
Greg
If you're trying to isolate a vibration and you think it's a tire/wheel, you could also try swapping the tires one at a time with the spare. If it disappears, then bada boom you've got the culprit. Plus you only have to have one rebalanced at that point.

Have you noticed if you get the vibration if you just run up the revs a few times if you're not moving? I'm only thinking of that because of the recent threads popping in on the harmonic balancer issue.
Of course now that you've 'fessed up to the cabinet and professional painting connections, we'll be having a meet at your place.
Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg
