Anyone know what this warning light is?
The other day I was making a sharp turn and the warning light came on then went away. It's a yellow triangle with exclamination light right in the middle of the speedo. Does anyone know what that means? I looked in my owner's manual and it didn't say or show what it is for.

That is the traction control indicator or stability control activating. It was later called ESP. Try looking up ABS or Traction Control in your owners manual.

I thought I don't have it on a 96, in fact, I don't mind if it was coming on but however that I didn't see no switch to deactivate. I have the very basic E320 model, since I seen a lot of fully loaded E320 that have a lot of switches above the A/C panel. I only have two switches, one for the rear headrest and the other for the door lock but that's it.

When you turn off the switch on the center console, the triangle (like the one on the title bar for this reply) illuminates ALL the time to warn you that ESP has been disabled and Mother Benz is no longer looking out for you. If ESP is activated, then the warning alert tells you the system has detected an instability and made a correction: it's meant as a safety reminder and I think is most useful when you don't even realize you were driving on as slippery a surface as you thought.
Take care and enjoy the ride, folks.

Correction, I just went outside to look . . . the off switch is for ASR (acceleration slip regulation), not ESP. According to the manual, "ASR will engage . . . if one or both of the drive wheels begin to lose traction and spin due to excessive acceleration".
A similar system on this car, Electronic Traction System (ETS), also activates the yellow warning light. You can't turn ETS off, though.
The difference (slight) between ASR and ETS are explained on pages 82-83 of the owner's manual.
E-Klasse is right, I guess, that ESP was offerred in later models. Sounds like it does the same thing as ASR/ETS, though.
