Shock help PLEASE !

I got a set of sachs shocks from another member, and when I went to replace the front I noticed that my shock was about 1 1/2 inches longer. My car is a 2000 E430 and his is a 2001 E430 Sport. I thought that the 210 were all the same. If the Sport are shorter, what will the outcome be if I use them on my car?
Any help would be appreciated.

The shocks are sport shocks and therefore, shorter to be used with sport springs. Not sure if they are supposed to be 1 1/2" shorter, that sounds too short but somewhere in the neighborhood. Anyway, you shouldn't install the shorter shocks with your stock springs, you need to purchase a set of short springs like H&R sport, Eibach or some sport type of shocks. Good luck man...

Thanks for the info. Checked the part #s and found out the shocks are Euro. del. Thats why they are so short. Will not work on my car. If anyone has some low mi. Sachs for an E430, let me know.

Thumbs up Try the lowering...

Hi, Jim.

You mentioned you dropped it about 5/8" with the pad swap and were considering cutting off half a coil, which should bring you within the range for those shocks, so I wouldn't worry about it. DaGreek is correct that those sound as though they're designed for the lowered setup, but since you're going that route I think you'll be fine.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg
