Where do you find recall notices
I am also haveing the same door rust problems like everyone else and it seems there sould be some way to get MB to cover this
All-Data
p.s. i have subscription at work so if you need details on a particular TSB
send me msg. But don't ask for a ton of them - will do a few. I need to
set aside time for my many coffee breaks and web surfing, ya know.

Thank you for posting the link to the Autozone/Alldata site (can't figure which it actually is)
Can you or someone tell me of what significance the service bulletins are and how they are handled by the dealerships.
The reason I ask is because the first (or latest) sb on the list for 2000 E320 is one which describes a very annoying problem with my drivers seat. I'm wondering if, like with my 2002 Honda Goldwing motorcycle, that when a service bulletin is issued covering some problem with the vehicle, the dealership will take it in and perform whatever resolution is specified to fix that problem at no cost to the owner.
And could you, as you have offered, post the details of that SB - which looks like this:
Service Bulletins
TSB Number & Issue Date TSB Title
P-91_10-83 OCT 04 Interior - Seat Cushion Rocks Makes Cracking Noises
If you can do that and I like what you post, I'll most likely subscribe just so I can read about the other 50 or more items titled in the list.
Thank you very much.

The difference between the TSB and RECALL....
TSBs itemize reported/reoccuring problems encountered, be it factory
recognition or from automobile owners. Examples include your squeaky
seats, sticky window, trunk gasket which allows weeping during rain, etc.
When problems with the vehicle crosses the threshold to where it becomes
a serious safety concern, it compels the manuf/Feds to mandate a recall.
TSB fixes can be made under warranty, free of charge, at the dealer's option,
based on their good faith and willingness for positive PR. But by nature, TSBs
are not required to be fixed, gratus, by the dealer.
Recalls extend even to vehicles which have surpassed warranty periods.
That is my aging memory recall (heh heh) of the differences.
That is just what I was hoping to see in the report. My seat problem feels exactly like a problem with a bolt or bolts just as described.
I went to my favorite independant - a very good man - the other day, and he did not have the latest TSB's added to his computer's list yet - still on a disk he had been sent recently, he said.
So that's a good bit of info and I have printed it out to take to him (or the dealer, perhaps - possibly being in the realm of "good-will" possibility).
Thanks again,
Brian

However, my independant mechanic is a very nice and reliable peron and a good mechanic. The dealership here in my town is packed with a bunch of certified jackasses. The very mention of "good will" when inquiring about how this seat problem would be handled got me a laugh in the face.
Fooey!
