Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 Tires

I have a 1997 E320 and I am thinking of putting on the Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires.

I see some have used them .

What do you think now that you have used them for while

I currently use them and am satisfied, however I haven't tried any other brand on my W210.

HAD the Goodyears on my 2001 E430,,, they were noisy and because i dont drive many miles, the rubber got quite hard. This caused my ASP to all but over work itself. The Goodyears were fine when they were new, but after many months, they started their loss of traction and I got rid of them. I have Michelin Pilot Sport on the car now and I am VERY happy with them

S, GL, Escalade ESV, my shoes
I had them on my car, 18K mile so far, look like it can last another 10K. (tire size is 235/45/17)

Traction is awesome, I love them. Now that it has racked quite a number of mile, it's a bit noisy (very quiet when new), but not any more than any other tire I had before.

I used to have Michelin Sport Pilot. I think they're about the same when it come to performance, but the Michelin is too soft (worn out quicker), and much pricier.

I'll go with the Goodyear again when mine worn out.

Both the Michelin SP and Goodyear GS-D3 have the highest rating score on tirerack. Can't go wrong with either one of them.

I thought the Goodyear GS-D3's were too noisy and was overly unimpressed. I've also run Kumho Escta Supra 712's, Michelin Pilot Sports, Sumitomo HTRZ II's, and Continental conti sport(OEM tires) on my E's. I thought the Kumho's had the best ride, lowest noise, and overall best value of all the tires. Pilot Sports were slightly louder than the Kumho's but excell in the corners and had less body roll. Straight-line traction is about the same for the Kumho's and the Michelin's.

Sumitomo HTRZII's were a nice tire but I only had them on a short time before I sold my first E 210. They were quiet and had good wet and dry traction but I never really tested them hard in the corners. If money was no object, buy the Pilot Sports.

The Goodyear GS-D3's were really loud. I even pulled over a few times because I thought I had blown a tire. Nope, no blown tire. They were just damn loud on my E. Traction was about the same as the Michelin's but I thought the Michelin's felt better in the corners. I would not buy the Goodyear's again.

Ive used these F1's for about 20K miles now,and they have plenty of life left. They are outstanding at high speed,in the wet,and cornering.Very grippy and the price is quite reasonable.Noise is not a big concern,no more than any other tire IMHO. Do check the tirerack as per Zam,the results are impressive.

Had them - not impressed

Had them on my BMW M, but not my MB. Anyway, I replaced Pole Position S03's with the DS-G3s. Frankly, I thought the S03's were a far superior tire. Way better performance in both wet and dry conditions. The DS-G3s seemed to have way more roll in the SW. I can easily say that my traction control was lighting up about twice as frequently at the same speeds on the same roads. Ride was similar, as was noise.

I'll not buy them again.
