No. Your factory hid won't fit in there as far as I know. You can use your current ballasts probably and maybe even bulbs (may need some trimming to make fit if you're ghetto like me :P).

I just did those headlights on my car and I retrofitted new W211 bixenons into them, replaced the lens, projector w/ the attached bixenon acuators, put in an aftermarket 7500k bulb set w/ hella ballasts (not the ones from the 211 though, another). I tried before just using the new headlights and pop in an hid kit in it, but it was ghetto. The lens needed to be replaced b/c it's made for halogen.

Doc can testify the difference between xenon w/ Depo lens, and xenon with Hella lens. He've had both, and knows quite well the end result

If you wanna set for your car, you can buy part and DIY, or I can do it for you for a small fee (on top of part cost). Search the forum, and you'll see what I mean. For more info, PM me.

Doc, you should go w/ D2S instead of shaving off the D2R, D2R are made for reflector headlight, and about 20% less bright than D2S.

oh really? But the thing is that the bulbs Igot have wire built into them. I wouldnt know how the heck to make it work. I still got the bulbs and ballasts and everything from the W211. I guess I could see how to make it work but i dunno how lol.

I'll tell you mystik, let Zam do the work b/c it's long and a pain in the ***. lol Well it was for me cuz I had to take the bumper out, and the headlights were busted. There was a screw inside where the heigh adjustment goes and is supposed to only have a free moving rod. Oh well, I got it all to work Actually doing it yourself ony our car, with NEW parts shouldnt be that difficult. But Zam has custom made parts that will make it a cleaner job. PLus he can rig it to use oem plugs. Let him do it!

edit: Zam. my left bixenon shield gets stuck off sometimes after I use the high beams. Does that ever happen to you? I think it just gets wedged. I have to hit the headlight to make it come down, but recently I figured tha tif I held the high beams for a little bit, the pressure put up eventually loosens the shield and lets it come back up. Weird.

Doc,

Will take pix and show you how to do it. If possible, try to use the bulb & ballast from the W211. Color might not be as nice as 7500K (OEM W211 run Philips D2S 4300K), but the Hella lens will give you that awesome purple hue. The Philips one is about as twice as bright as the 7500K aftermarket you're using, no kidding !. (put it this way, every 1000K you're up in color, you're losing about 20-25% in brightness compared to previous level).

For the bi-xenon solenoid, just take them out and blow air to them to clean them, probably stuck due to dirt. Don't use any chemical to clean them, you might ruin the eletrocmanegtic piece inside.

Thanks for the tip Zam. Right now my HIDs are hooked up all crazy. I swear, there are like 5 differerent wires coming out of my ballasts! Also I'm having problem with the aim of my lights, so I may have to take them all apart again. I jerryrigged it for now and it's pretty badass, better than OEM, but I know it can still be better.

Doc

Try to use all the OEM stuff, clean up the wire, and make everything rigid. Over the long run, these could develop into leak, vibration, and potentially fire hazard. So extra effords now pay off later.

You should have only two wires coming out from the ballast, and wired directly to the wire that control the old H7 bulb.

I'm attaching couple pix of what I usually done for my clients, notice the ballast is mounted tightly on the bottom, and wire run to the light housing. Try to do the same. I haven't gotten any complain or word of problem from any one so far.

These pixes are for the job where customer wants me to install lens and ballast, and he already has xenon bulbs & other bulbs. So they don't show the xenon bulb & plug already connected, but you could still see how the ballast, wire, ignitor are mounted. Once you close the back cover, you shouldn't see anywire.

Again, try to keep them tight, safe, mount straight, and clean, and you'll have fun driving at night
